Born and educated in Salford, an Industrial town in the Northwest of England, Paul Kenny completed his Fine Art Degree at Newcastle upon Tyne in 1975.
Showing his work only since 1991, Kenny joined London's Purdy Hicks Gallery in 1997, where he had his first major London show in November 2000. Subsequently he was represented by the Photographers Gallery in London and has recently joined the artists at the Fine Art Society.
In 2004 he returned to live in North Northumberland where he lives not far from Holy Island with his wife Margaret.
He has travelled to work in Japan, France and Ireland but his main focus is on the remote beaches of Wester Ross in north-west Scotland. In 2000 he was made a Fellow of the Ballinglen Arts Foundation and spends time at their facility in North West Mayo, Eire.
He has work in some major public and private collections including Deutche Bank, Goldman Sachs and the National Gallery of Scotland.
